Are you trying to get rid of a salvage vehicle that has been totaled out by your insurance company?  How about are you trying to get rid of a old vehicle that has been hanging around your yard for years?  Well, now you need to know how much you can get for your salvage vehicle.  Quit frankly, if you were to sale the entire vehicle to a junk yard, you are not going to get that much.  I once owned a taxi company and every few years I had plenty of cars to salvage.  For me I had a few junk yards that offered to pay cash for my cars and they would also come and pick them up.  But this was and is not the norm with every city.  These vehicles were not new, they were retired police vehicles that I brought from the city for $1000 dollars or less.  I used these vehicles as taxi till they wore out or it cost to much to repair.  So, they were not quality.  The junk yard would offer me $300 to $500 dollars for every vehicle.  But, like I said before these were not quality vehicles.  The ones that I gat $300 dollars for were also vehicles that were in accidents.  I don't think you will be able to get anything more for a salvage vehicle.  When they have been in accidents the value of these vehicles deminish significantly.  Their is no blue book value to say that a salvage vehicle is worth a certain amount.  The blue books can't evaluate a accident damaged vehicle.

Are you will to do a little work?
If you will to do a little work you can get a little more money for the parts from the salvage vehicles.  This is what a junk yard is going to do.  They are just going to give you a small amount, take you vehicle, break it into smaller pieces, remove all the parts will the car is a shell and sell each part piece by piece to junk customers.  Why not get some of that money yourself.

If you willing to do a little work then these are parts that you should take off the vehicle and resale on eBay or other auto parts sites. All of these parts are easy to take off and you should be able to take them off yourself.

1. The battery $depends on age
2. Catalytic converter $100-250
3. Mass airflow sensor $30-70
4. Deck
5. Aftermarket parts radio, guages
6. Tires
7. Allowy Wheels

These are easy things to take off and should give you a really good return.  If you want a even greater return then you may want to take the car to an auto machanic to have them remove even more parts.  Parts like the radiator or the alternator.  Only do this if you have a storage area for all of these parts.  If you don't have the area just do ahead and get rid of the car at your local junk yard.
