The Jaguar XK Motor Car
The first thing that you notice about the XK is its body shape. It is sleek, aerodynamic and it looks every inch the performance car that it is. This car will turn heads; most people will want to be seen in one. To get a feel for this car, visit a showroom and see the car; test driving the car will allow you to decide whether the car is for you.
One of the best things about the Jaguar XK is that the car is incredibly easy to control. The XK features an aluminum shell that is lighter and stronger than the steel that is used in most cars. The aluminum alloy body shell is rivet-bonded, a monocoque design that increases stiffness, reduces weight, and improves road performance. The design also uses a clever Computer Active Technology Suspension that detects the contours of the road and adjusts the car for the optimum ride. The four-wheel antilock brakes and TracDSC feature to improve stability during cornering adding to the driving pleasure.
Safety in the XK may easily be overlooked when compared to the cars performance, but it has by no means been forgotten. Ventilated anti-lock disc brakes are used on all four wheels, with oversized discs in the XKR coupe. The disc sizes are are sized to match engine power. The pressure in each tire is continuously monitored. Adaptive Restraint Technology deploys front airbags according to passenger weight, and crash severity, while side airbags help protect front occupants in certain side collisions. And for the convertible model, sensors deploy high-strength aluminum hoops in case of rollover, creating a shield zone to help protect passengers.
The interior of the XK is exquisite. There are a number of options, but the luxury option features a soft-grain leather that graces the seats, doors and console and feels as finished as it looks . This luxury can go even further with the Luxury Package. The satin-finish American Walnut and gloss Burl Walnut accents demonstrates superior craftsmanship, and the Aluminum trim gives a sporting feel to the cockpit.
Another impressive feature is the seven inch color navigation screen. This controls the dual zone climate control heating and cooling system, navigation information and audio control. It also works with Bluetooth enabled devices. This screen uses Macromedia Flash technology for ease of use.
The basic luxury coupe features a powerful engine. It features a 4.2L 300 horsepower V8 engine and standard nineteen inch wheels with optional twenty inch wheels. It also features a keyless entry and start system.
