The Rover automobile was once a thriving British automobile manufacturing company. The company built and names under Starley & Sutton Co. of Coventry in 1878. They also manufactured the trucks with the well known Land Rover name. The company was eventually brought out by the BMW Group and reemerged as the Rover marque. Rover has changed hands a number of times since BMW group owned the company. At one time Ford also owned the cars but they eventually sold the brand to Tata Motors.
